Executive Team

Frank Cooper, Managing Director

Frank is the founder of Cooper Software Ltd. After working independently for several years as an IFS ERP technical consultant and Oracle specialist, he decided to start Cooper Software in October 2005. Previously Frank held the position of Information Services Director for a Fife based software house. Frank graduated from Napier University Edinburgh with an MSc in Administrative and Information Management and a BEng in Software Engineering, whilst working for Marconi Avionics and later BAE Systems.

Susan Cooper, Director

Susan Cooper spent the early part of her professional career at a Scottish law firm, specialising in administration and property before moving into the finance sector holding senior roles with both the HSBC and the Bank of Scotland. Susan assisted with Cooper Software on a part-time basis initially, until 2009 when she took up a full-time role managing the HR and Finance departments of the business.

Simon Fielding-Turton, Commercial Advisor

Simon has been a commercial advisor for Cooper Software since October 2010.
Simon joined IBM in 1979, beginning his career in manufacturing & advanced into Sales at a time when IBM were truly the unrivaled giant of the IT Industry. Simon’s innovative style & success did not go unnoticed & he was duly headhunted by Microsoft in 1994. As Microsoft’s second hire in Scotland Simon held a number of senior roles and forged business relationships with major Financial Services clients. In 2004 Simon was hired by Avanade and after 6 years of growing Avanade in Scotland from a start up to a thriving business Simon formed Aurea Consulting in 2010 to support and advise Scottish SME’s to achieve their potential, with a particular focus on Sales and Marketing.

Frank Cooper Snr MBE, HR, Legal and General Management Advisor

Frank Cooper Snr Has spent the majority of his working life in the Royal Navy and brings many years valuable experience of personnel, legal and general management to the Cooper Software team. Awarded the MBE (Military Division) in 2001.

Senior Management

Gary Clark, Chief Technical Officer

Gary joined Cooper Software in 2007 and has 15 years experience working in the IT industry mostly in the area of software development. Experienced in a number of different development methodologies from traditional to more agile techniques, Gary is responsible for the development team and managing projects within Cooper Software. As a technical architect he has extensive experience contributing to multiple enterprise initiatives utilising mostly Microsoft and Oracle technologies. Graduating from Napier University with a BEng (Hons) in Computing, he is currently a PRINCE2 Register Practitioner and holds Charted Status of the British Computer Society.

Dean Gardner, Software Delivery Manager

Dean joined Cooper Software in January 2008 and has 10 years experience in the IT industry predominantly in the area of software development. Working in a range of industries from Gaming, 3D Medical Imaging to ERP Integrations, Dean has experience in a number of delivery methodologies with a particular focus on agile software development. Dean is responsible for, and leads the team, delivering solutions to customers from initial prototype to the final delivered product as well as ensuring development quality measures are implemented and met.

Brian Storrar, Infrastructure and Communications Principal

Brian joined Cooper Software in August 2006 and has 11 years experience in software development in the financial and retail sectors, including ERP system development. Over this time Brian has been responsible for server upgrades and commissioning, telephone system implementations and upgrades and planning business continuity procedures.

Dale Williams, Architecture and Software Design Principal

Dale joined Cooper Software in July 2007 and has 16 years experience in the IT industry mostly in the area of software development with 4 years experience as a college lecturer. Dale is primarily responsible for leading the development team in project architecture and best programming practices.
