In just 4 days time, the 2018 Homeless World Cup will kick off in Mexico. On the 13th November, more than 500 participants will gather in Mexico City’s iconic Zocalo for the inspirational week-long football festival.
As part of our three-year partnership with the Homeless World Cup Foundation we are busy putting the finishing touches to our digital competition management system which has been designed to reflect the unique nature of the Homeless World Cup. The engine will be used to run the tournament where over 400 games will be played across three purpose built pitches. We are also heading across to Mexico to work alongside the Homeless World Cup tournament delivery team during the event.
The Homeless World Cup Foundation is an outstanding charity that is helping to change the perception of homelessness on a global scale, all through the game of football. Football as a sport is very close to the heart of Cooper Software’s founder and Executive Chairman, Frank Cooper. Frank had the pleasure of attending the Homeless World Cup in Glasgow two years ago where he was blown away by the sheer scale of the event, as well as the incredible enthusiasm of all the teams involved.
Cooper Software are delighted to lend our support to such a fantastic charity through the development of the competition management system and we are excited to watch the tournament unfold. More than 500 players from over 40 countries will compete in the multi-stage tournament. The tournament emphasises Fair Play and inclusiveness above all.
In addition to becoming the Technology Partner of the Homeless World Cup Foundation, we have also nominated them as our preferred charity partner for the next three years, and will continue to raise money for the Homeless World Cup Foundation during future corporate fundraising events.
