Wrightbus choose Cooper Software to support systems transformation project, following the selection of IFS

Cooper Software is pleased to announce that they have extended their contract with Wrightbus to provide technical support following the bus company’s transition to IFS.

Based in Ballymena, Wrightbus is one of Europe’s leading bus manufacturers. They are the pioneers of hydrogen, hybrid and electric buses, and are the company behind the iconic New Routemaster. The company is on the road to recovery following a difficult 2019 during which time they were acquired by Bamford Bus Company, which is owned by Jo Bamford, son of JCB Chairman, Lord Bamford.

The contract extension marks the fifth year of a relationship between Wrightbus and Cooper Software which began in 2015 when Cooper Software were brought in to undertake an IFS health check and provide expert consulting services – reconfiguring the system to more closely meet the needs of the Wrightbus team – before providing ongoing technical support for day-to-day issues.

Cooper Software is proud to play a role in the resurgence of Wrightbus. The company will provide a flexible support service that can be called on by end users as they start to use the new IFS system, as well as giving Wrightbus access to their expert consulting and project management services to ensure the implementation of IFS is delivered smoothly and quickly. This programme of work will transform the operations of Wrightbus as they look to streamline operations and build a strong systems foundation and architecture which will help enable the planned rapid growth of the new company.

Frank Cooper, Executive Chairman of Cooper Software, commented, “We pride ourselves on the strength of our client relationships, and this contract is a great affirmation of our approach. We are delighted that Wrightbus is getting back up to speed, building cutting-edge vehicles for cities around the world. We’re also delighted to be part of their future – equipping Wrightbus with the business systems that will underpin their success for the years ahead.”

Gareth McLaughlin, Global Head of IT at Wrightbus said, “We are delighted and excited that we have been able to commit to IFS as we start a new chapter in our businesses history. We have already built up a trusted relationship with Cooper Software who have supported Wrightbus over many years and continuing our relationship as they support our implementation of IFS in the years to come is critical. We see this continued partnership as key to ensuring our new systems strategy will be delivered successfully and that IFS will be installed and configured both quickly and efficiently and will have the desired impact as we look to automate and streamline our business operations.”
